Cloud computing is the future and no one can deny that. Prasad Ram of google had spoken about the prospects in the recently held Nasscom Conclave on Cloud Computing.
Th new app marketplace will allow Google Apps customers to easily discover, deploy and manage cloud applications that integrate with Google Apps. More than 50 companies are now selling applications across a range of businesses:
Some of these are Intuit Online Payroll, Zoho projects, Bookfresh. The beauty about these apps is that they integrate with several services of google seemlessly and almost work like google products.
Also the issue of multiple ids is take care of with OpenID integration.
Boon for SME’s
The SME market is huge in India and this launch by google is clearly aimed at the SME segment the world over. This launch would surely position Google as a serious player in the medium level enterprise software services even in the Indian market. The ease of use and the penetration of google products would make sure that Indian businesses start subscribing to this service. All in all once again google will rule the Indian web space but this time from an enterprise perspective.
